ABOUT ME
I am a trained counselor and coach who
has worked with high school and
college students from around the globe.
With my educational background in both counseling psychology and college counseling, combined with over 30 years of professional experience working with high school and college age students, I work to fully understand what’s in the best interests of my clients to deliver a successful, hands-on and personalized approach.
My educational journey began when I received my bachelor's degree from Emory University and earned an Ed.M and M.A. in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Adolescents and Young Adults, from Columbia University.
I started my career working for The American Institute for Foreign Study, an international cultural exchange program, in their Camp America division where I placed and counseled hundreds of college-age counselors at summer camps throughout the United States. For the past 25+ years, I’ve been a director of Camp Pinecliffe for Girls, a residential summer camp located in Harrison, ME and part of my family’s business for over 100 years.
My own family's experiences and challenges with the college application process initially attracted me to the college counseling world. I quickly discovered both a passion and expertise in counseling young adults through universal life transitional events like college applications and career choices. Before officially beginning my work as an independent educational consultant, I earned my College Counseling certification with distinction from UCLA. I absolutely love helping young adults overcome obstacles and fulfill their dreams!
In my college counseling and career counseling practice, I embrace a holistic approach that supports students throughout their entire journey. This means going beyond just an application process and recognizing the uniqueness of every student. I believe that fit matters. I provide personalized guidance tailored to individual needs, experiences, and goals. My philosophy aims to empower students to navigate this process confidently by arming them with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in life beyond high school. I also am committed to supporting families. I create a collaborative environment where my students and parents feel informed and empowered.; to be able to look forward to whatever journey they choose that lies ahead.
